About The Founder

A philanthropist, a visionary, a beacon of light for community development, Parmanandji Khatri was the farsighted Founder who guided Amar Dairy to accomplish its goals. He took the initiative to restructure dairy farming in the rural parts. The idea of procuring high quality milk struck him when he noticed quality issues with the milk delivered to his restaurant.

Teaming up with farmers, he attained a good production and finally decided to get into over the counter sale for customers. Due to the finest quality of milk that was available in the adjoining areas, the sales increased just by word of mouth. Since then, Amar Dairy has walked on the footprints of its Founder and created a loyal customer base.

Today at Amar Dairy, we aim to maintain the pride and originality of our country and take great initiatives to transform our Founder’s vision of oneness and community development with people’s participation into reality.

About Amar Dairy

Amar Dairy was started in 1990.  Late Mr. Parmanand N Khatri owned a famous restaurant Amar Hotel in Bodwad near Jalgaon. The restaurant had a good footfall, and a decent quantity of milk was also required in the restaurant on a daily basis. However, one fine day, Parmanandji realized that the quality of the milk was slowly deteriorating.

Being a quality conscious person, he did not want to compromise on the quality of milk or any other products. His restaurant business had earned a respectable reputation due to good quality food being served. To tackle the issue of milk, he found a genuine solution. He approached the farmers directly to procure the milk. The farmers agreed to sell the milk directly to him.

The quality issue was thus put to rest. However, another challenge arose in a couple of days. The milking process usually happens twice a day. The milk obtained from the morning session was used during the day, but the milk obtained from the night's milking process was extra. Now the question was how to put the evening milk to use. Therefore, Parmanandji thought of starting a retail outlet where people could get quality milk from. This is how Amar Dairy was born.

Initially, the dairy sold around 25-50 liters of milk every day. But since the milk was of fine quality, people started demanding more milk. As the word of mouth spread across, the demand for Amar Dairy products increased as the number of customers surged. To fulfill this growing demand, he got in touch with more farmers.

One thing led to another and Amar Dairy grew gradually to what it is today – from an outlet that sold 25-50 litres and had handful of farmers, to a unit that has a prominent presence in over six districts, owns distributor network, backed by 7000+ farmers, a range of milk products, and a plant that can handle a capacity of over 1 lakh liters of milk.

What makes us different?

  • The Never-Ending Emphasis on Quality

We are driven by the philosophy, “Quality is never an accident. It’s always the result of intelligent efforts.” We are very quality conscious. Therefore, we have imported quality monitoring systems from Denmark. This system helps us keep track of quality every second. We are about to be ISO certified.

  • Educating & Empowering Farmers

We are not just collecting milk from farmers but also continuously involved in educating them. We organize farmer meets where best practices are discussed. We invite experts from different parts of the country who train our farmers on a range of topics like good quality food, water, milking processes, do’s and don’ts, etc. Ecosystems matter to us.

  • Automated Processes

Since our plant handles large milk quantities of milk, we have installed automated processes that cuts down the time and energy required in processing the milk.

  • No Middlemen

We directly deal with farmers, therefore, this leaves no scope for any middlemen to interfere with the quality of milk. This allows us to have better control over demand, supply, price, and quality of the milk.

  • Own Distributorship

We have company-owned vehicles to make sure that milk is delivered on time. Therefore, there are minimal or no dependency factors for quality and delivery. We have distributors in Akola, Buldhana, Jalgaon, and Amravati.

  • Competitive pricing

Amar Dairy is known for quality products, affordability, and competitive prices. Over the years, we have maintained our quality and price – something our customers have always appreciated us for.
